Born

the US Army in 1963, serving primarily in Africa. He was honorably discharged in 1966 with
a rank of sergeant.
Immediately afterward he attended Olive

Luke Moretti
A
1970 graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Marketing,
Luke has been actively trading commodity futures since 1973.
He became a member of the Mid-America Exchange in Chicago
in 1974, working as an independent floor trader through 1978.
In 1978 he also joined Peavey Company as a research consultant
for all commodity futures markets, later becoming Director
of Research. He retained this position until 1982, when he
left to become an independent Commodity Trading Advisor. He
is presently registered with the Commodity Futures Trading
Commission and National Futures Association as such. Later
that year, Mr. Moretti was retained by Heinold Commodities
to conduct trading and training seminars and to provide market
research, as well as trading recommendations for the company's
brokers.
In
1986 Mr. Moretti branched out from his Heinold affiliation
to offer his consulting services to commodity firms and Introducing
Brokers (IBs) throughout the country. During this time, he
established a contact with Farmers' Grain and Livestock Company
(FGL), which eventually led to his becoming Director of Research,
the position he held until FGL dissolved in 1992.
In early 1992 Mr. Moretti established his
own research firm in Chicago, disseminating his market information
both orally and in writing via satellite to his subscribers
which consisted of lB offices and large Futures Commissions
Merchants (FCMs) or clearing firms. At the same time he expanded
his business to include retail brokerage clients. Throughout
1995 he shifted the emphasis of his business from research
to brokerage, eventually discontinuing the pure research function
to concentrate his efforts on servicing his brokerage clientele.
In September 2004, he transferred his registration as an Associated
Person (AP) from Peregrine Financial Group to System Select
Group, where he presently works with investors and hedgers,
imparting to them the acquired knowledge of his 30 years of
trading experience.
In addition to the foregoing, Mr. Moretti
was an instructor at Kishwaukee College in Malta, Illinois,
where he taught commodity futures courses from 1978 to 1983.
He has written for and been featured in several of the industry's
leading publications, including Futures Magazine and Consensus
Magazine.
Throughout his career Mr. Moretti has acquired
a wealth of knowledge about global agricultural, economic
and political workings and their market ramifications. This
occurred during his travels as a market lecturer and consultant,
as well as from his 28-year participation in the U.S. Army
on Active Duty, and in the Reserves and National Guard. He
is presently retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Moretti resides in a North Shore suburb
of Chicago with his wife, and when not engaged in market analysis
or futures trading, he can be found cheering for the Bears,
Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks; or hacking his way around an area
golf course.
